Blizzard Entertainment has revealed more information regarding the upcoming World of Warcraft: Dragonflight profession changes.
From new crafting orders and profession specializations to quality crafting and gathering, the new system seeks to empower professions, giving players who actively use them more individuality and overall need in the game. process.
With that in mind, here’s the WoW Dragonflight profession system explained.
Dragonflight Introduces New, Updated Profession System to WoW
Now that Dragonflight development is in full swing, Blizzard has decided to give players an in-depth look at the new, updated Professions system coming to WoW.
According to the post on the official WoW website, the system update is “designed to provide more depth and engagement” to professions, giving them a chance to differentiate themselves.
This is done with the introduction of crafting commands, profession specializations, and crafting and gathering quality.
Crafting orders
As the first major update to the professions system, crafting commands make it much easier for players to obtain the items they need from specific professions. So instead of having to post on Tradechat or constantly scroll through the auction house, players can simply place a crafting order to get their item.
Almost for free, players can place a crafting order for almost any Dragon Isles crafting recipe using an Auction House-like interface.

When placing an order, players can set three options for the professions that can fulfill it: available to everyone, only to guild members, or to a specific person. Additionally, tradable reagents can be provided by either players or the crafter, while special reagents can only be provided by either. Soulbound reagents will primarily be provided by players when ordering a Soulbound item.
There will be additional customization options when ordering using “optional reagents” which depends on the recipe and will dictate what players want to craft. An example of this would be how missives dictate secondary player stats for legendaries in Shadowlands.
Once players have finished customizing their order, they will be able to offer a commission to the crafter which will be supplemented by a small listing commission from the auction house.
Crafters, on the other hand, will be able to see these orders, fill in the missing reagents if necessary, craft the item and collect the salary with a small discount. The finished item will be delivered to the player by mail.

Professional specializations
In addition to the uniqueness that comes with the new professions update, in addition to being able to place or complete crafting orders, players will be able to specialize in their own professions.
With profession specializations, players will be able to specialize their main crafting and gathering professions once they reach a high enough skill level. This will allow them to improve their skills on a long-term basis in certain areas of their profession.
This will be the main way for players to differentiate themselves from each other, as there will be many areas to specialize in with each profession.
Manufacture with quality
New to Dragonflight is the idea of crafting quality for crafted items and many reagents needed for them.
Quality and its effects
Crafting quality will affect both crafted gear such as armor and weapons and crafted items such as potions and ores. The quality of each piece of equipment or crafted items is determined by levels.
Craft equipment
Crafted gear will have five possible quality levels when crafted and will be determined by levels starting at level 1 and ending at level 5.

Quality will mostly change the level of the item, with each level improving it slightly. An example of this would be a piece of crafted upgrade gear starting at item level 270, but upgradeable to level 280 with two item level increments each time.
Artifacts
On the other hand, crafted and collected items such as potions, ores, herbs, etc., will have three quality levels.
When it comes to consumables, the effects of quality vary a bit. In most cases, a higher quality consumable will result in a stronger effect, but in some cases it can deviate in the form of longer durations, additional charges, etc.
For reagents, their quality will have a major role in the manufacture of an object. Crafting with higher quality base reagents will directly provide bonus skills when crafted. Additionally, quality will also affect a new “Finishing Reagents” which can be used to improve certain aspects of the crafting process, such as increasing skills or crafting stats.
It should also be noted that not all reagents collected will have the quality. It will mostly be reagents like meat, cloth, fish, and items that can be picked up by everyone.

Determination of quality via the manufacturing process
When players go to craft an item, two important aspects stand out: recipe difficulty and optional reagents.
The recipe difficulty determines how difficult it is to create a better recipe, it will also change when you add optional reagents to the mix. Optional reagents can modify it up or down depending on their effects and quality.

Crafting skill is determined by players’ base skills in their profession, but can be modified by a myriad of factors, including reagent quality, finishing reagents, profession gear with skill bonuses, various bonuses provided by consumables and profession specialization.
As players craft their items, a small amount of randomness is added to their skill roll. Additionally, if players have inspiration – a new crafting stat – they will be “inspired”, allowing them to gain a significant amount of bonus skills while crafting.
Ultimately, the crafting skill will be crucial when it comes to solving a recipe difficulty. The higher the skill, the better. Players looking to craft items at maximum quality will greatly benefit from having a crafting skill higher than the difficulty of the recipe.

Here are the new stats:
- Inspiration – You have x% chance to be inspired by crafting this recipe with an additional skill.
- Inspiration is for those of you who like to roll the dice and get lucky with a bonus quality. It’s also a way to craft items of a higher quality than your natural skills with a bit of luck.
