Evelyn (Ciummo) Heroux of Harrisville, owner of Chum’s Package Store, dies aged 101

Evelyn M. (Ciummo) Heroux, 101, died on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence.

Beloved wife of the late Emery Heroux.

Born in Harrisville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Roselma (Demarse) Ciummo. She has lived her entire life in Harrisville.

Evelyn has owned and worked at Chum’s Package Store, Chapel St. Harrisville for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Church, Harrisville.

Evelyn is survived by one stepson, Lee Heroux of Florida; one step-granddaughter, Lisa Heroux; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Eva Malley, Ernest Ciummo, Ralph Ciummo, Agnes Pichie, Dorothy Ciummo, Lawrence Ciummo and step-grandson Christopher Heroux.

Her funeral will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Avenue. Pascoag, with a Christian funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Hwy, Mapleville.

Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Emerson Road. Harrisville.
