This six-part series is an adaptation of The Ipcress File by Len Deighton.

This is Len Deighton’s first spy novel, published in 1962.

The story involves Cold War brainwashing, includes scenes in Lebanon and on an atoll for an atomic weapon test in the United States, as well as information on Joe One, the Union’s first atomic bomb. Soviet.

What is The Ippress file about?

The Ipcress file is about the protagonist, Harry Palmer, a British Army sergeant based in Berlin in 1963.

It was during the Cold War that raged between east and west.

Yet even in this time of nuclear bombs covering the skies, it is still possible for a working class young man with sophisticated tastes to make a lot of money.

Harry has a long list of extracurricular activities such as being a wholesaler, retailer, repairman, and smuggler

It puts him in touch with everything and everyone – until the law catches up and everything stops, resulting in eight years in a dark military prison in England.

However, Harry’s impressive network has piqued the interest of the British Secret Service, which has a proposal.

To avoid jail, Harry must become a spy and his first mission: the Ipcress file.
