Microsoft Rolls Out Updated File Sharing Dialog for Windows 11 Insiders in Beta Channel

Microsoft rolled out new fixes for Insiders in the Beta Channel on Windows 11, which brings a handful of fixes for File Explorer’s new tabs feature, as well as improvements to the file sharing dialog that appears when you use the File Explorer feature. integrated Windows sharing.

  • Windows Terminal is now the default terminal in Windows 11. This means that all command-line applications will automatically open in Windows Terminal (Command Prompt and PowerShell, for example). Please note that Windows Terminal version 1.15 (opens in a new tab) or higher is required for this feature.

  • Fixed an issue where the tab order when using CTRL+Tab would be incorrect if you rearranged tabs in File Explorer.
  • Fixed explorer.exe crash when moving tabs.
  • If “Show all folders” is enabled, the dividers in the File Explorer navigation pane should no longer be displayed. With this change, it should also fix issues where separators were displaying unexpectedly in some other folder selectors.
  • Opening a compressed folder in a new tab should no longer have an empty tab name.
  • Removable drives should no longer unexpectedly show up in a section by themselves in the Navigation Pane, breaking the section with This PC and Network.
  • Fixed an issue where the Add New Tab button was not clearly visible when using the Aquatic or Desert contrast themes.
  • A faint line should no longer appear between the current tab and the command bar.
  • Updated the tooltip when hovering over a tab to suggest using CTRL+W to close the tab (rather than CTRL+F4, which didn’t work).
  • If the focus is on the row of tabs, CTRL+W will no longer unexpectedly close two tabs instead of just the focused tab.
  • Fixed an issue where the row of tabs could expand vertically unexpectedly, covering the contents of the command bar.
  • Fixed a startup crash that affected some Insiders on Build 22622.160.

  • Fixed an issue that caused some Insiders in the previous Beta Channel flight to get their PC stuck on a black screen after waking up.
  • Fixed an issue that caused network connectivity to be lost after enabling mobile hotspot.
  • Fixed an issue causing the installation of build 22621.290/22622.290 to fail with error 0x800f081f for some Insiders.
  • Up arrow is misaligned in File Explorer tabs. This will be fixed in a future update.
