CEDAR RAPIDS — Chris and Suzy DeWolf, co-owners of Lil’ Drug Store Products, will receive the 2021 Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance at its Jan. 27 meeting.

The DeWolfes “run a successful family business and clearly see the value in giving back generously to their community,” Doug Neumann, executive director of the Economic Alliance, said in a news release Friday.

The award is named after industrialist and philanthropist Howard Hall, “who used his influence to create a better local economy and community,” the statement said. Hall died in 1971.

The Lil’ Drug Store Products, founded in 1974, is a portfolio of consumer products – including branded and private label health and beauty products, automotive necessities, sunglasses and cellular accessories – and retail solutions companies, as well as ForeFold Ventures, a private investment and philanthropy limited liability company.

Lil’ Drug Store Products today supplies approximately 180,000 retail outlets as well as online customers.

The couple and their businesses have donated more than $15 million to numerous local causes and projects, including efforts to spur economic and community development over the past 15 years, according to the release.

The Economic Alliance’s 10th Annual Meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cedar Rapids Convention Complex in downtown Cedar Rapids.
