Sayville Health Store will host free fitness classes on ‘Health Day’

SAYVILLE, NY – A Sayville health store aims to show appreciation for the community.

Cornucopia Natural Foods, located at 35 N Main St, invites the community to attend its “Health Day” on Saturday, July 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to highlight various areas and resources for healthy living on Long Island .

The event will feature local gyms, yoga studios, nutrition coaches, allergen-free baked goods, locally produced food companies, raffles and more.

The day will begin with a yoga class at 8 a.m., led by Raquel Vamos, owner of Free Spirits Yoga Studio and co-founder of the Dharma Yoga Wheel. Breakfast will then be provided by Cornucopia and accompanied by coffee samples from BeachBreak Coffee, an LGBTQ+ owned business in Fire Island Pines.

The event will continue with other fitness-focused segments, such as a session hosted by CrossFit Games athlete Christian Harris of MFLH Gyms and a self-defense demonstration by BJJ black belt Alex Vamos of Vamos. Jiu-Jitsu.

Lunch specials will then be served in collaboration with Farmer’s Focus Organic Chicken, along with other Cornucopia vegan specials.

Throughout the day, other companies such as O23 Coaching, RISE Nutrition and many more will be on hand to discuss their services and provide further insight into a healthy lifestyle.

The event will end with various raffle prizes. Each person who visits the store during the event will receive a raffle ticket with additional tickets provided for participation in a fitness segment or with a purchase.

“We are thrilled to host this event promoting wellness in our community, featuring local businesses and long-term partners of Cornucopia,” said Chris Kroeger, General Manager.

Founded and family-owned since 1976, the store operates with the belief that a healthy lifestyle is different for every individual, according to its website, and this event seeks to draw a parallel by showing the variety of offerings in our community.

“Self-ownership of physical and mental health is more important than ever,” Kroeger said. “We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to highlight some of our favorite local businesses designed to guide our community on their personal wellness journeys.”
