Woman says she was robbed and carjacked outside Dekalb beauty store

ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – An Atlanta woman says she was robbed at gunpoint and carjacked outside a Dekalb County beauty supply store in broad daylight. She asked to remain anonymous for her own safety.

It happened last week as she and her 12-year-old daughter walked to their car in the Briarcliff Village shopping center on Thursday afternoon. As they approached their vehicle, the woman says a man approached her and pointed a small gun at her face.

“I started to take a step back and he thought if you move again I’m going to shoot you,” the victim said.

The victim says the man asked him for his car keys. She handed them over and he drove off in his dark gray Kia Stinger with her 6-month-old puppy inside.

“Do better. You know? Buy yourself a life. Do something with your life. There’s no point in robbing women. Especially if they have their kids,” the victim said.

The woman describes her attacker as tall and thin. He wore a beanie, a white t-shirt and black shorts. The man fled without injuring anyone.

“I’m so blessed that my daughter and I are safe,” the woman said.

Dekalb investigators are looking for the victim’s car and dog. If you have any information, call the police.
